About Me

My name is Seth, and I am a 36-year-old attempting to navigate schooling again while also navigating the unknown of a fresh divorce, and all the while taking care of my 7-year-old autistic daughter.

I initially went to school for Criminal Justice and spent nearly a decade between corrections and hospital security. Within corrections, I was exposed to a wildly varying degree of the darker side of humanity including murder, sexual assault, and some famous cases such as the Slender Man girls. With moving on to hospital security, I was able to see almost every aspect of life, from birth, the elderly, and finally death, but also including the darker aspects such as assaults, accidents, and drug addiction. Needless to say, my life perspective became jaded and changed, especially with having a special needs daughter. Top off the “Seth’s life viewpoint” with being a very large guy, 6’ 6” and over 300lbs who lifts regularly, and I was unfortunately the one who constantly had to respond to or break up fights, which became old after a while. Thus, I decided to transition to a hopefully more stable work environment with IT.

As a ’90s kid, I have always enjoyed computers and electronics and explored the incredible growth of everything having to do with electronics such as the never-ending expansion of the Internet starting with dialup to the expansion of video game systems beginning with Coleco and NES all the way up to the current systems. From building devices, programming, and figuring out ways to optimize the device and user interface capabilities. Within corrections and security, I was always the "computer guy, " who would assist in setting up cameras, working on network issues, and helping with document and camera footage issues within the computers, servers, or cloud server access, both within an organization as well as in cooperation with numerous law enforcement agencies. I am admittedly undecided about where I want my education to take me, as there are several aspects to IT that I enjoy, but I know I will ultimately be making the right and best decision for myself and my daughter with a lifelong passion that will hopefully keep me engaged and hopefully remote so I can continue my adventures with traveling and cruising.
