This is how it all started…

As a child, I was fortunate to have been on numerous family vacations, but none made more of an impact as cruising. As the “last family” vacation with myself and 3 siblings, my parents wanted the whole family of 6 to have one final vacation before kids going off to college. This final trip was on a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas. With stops in Nassau, Bahamas; Falmouth, Jamaica, and Labadee, Haiti, we certainly enjoyed warm, sunny weather and turquoise oceans.

Fast forwarding, my wife and I were married on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas and we consistently go on several cruises a year, with efforts to meet new people, try new foods, and experience new cultures. As we get ready to take another cruise this year, we will be passing the cruising bug down a generation with our daughter so she can enjoy all the experiences, food, and cultures we have been blessed with. Follow along on our adventures as we provide tips, tricks, and our own experiences to hopefully give some useful advice on how to plan and enjoy your own cruise vacation.

It is mandatory for all passengers, even those who have cruised before, as the assigned location will most likely be different on each sailing.  Today, many...
